_____________________________________________________________________

2017 First Annual 12 Hours of Boom

Saturday 8th of July, 2017 saw us undertake our biggest and most daring whisky adventure yet – a live broadcast over 12 hours from 12:00 noon until midnight.

We featured special guests and friends from the #whiskyfabric with delicious drams and prize giveaways at every step of the way!

Did you survive the Dummies’ 12 Hours of BOOM?

WATCH AS IT HAPPENED!

12:00 NOON – 12:45PM

Welcome Session with Scott and Bart

Welcoming you and settling into our big live adventure with The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 3 – start strong! The beginning begins in Scott’s kitchen where the very first episode started it all.

1:00PM – 1:45PM

Dave Dvorak – Sons of Erin Irish

Dave could be credited as the guy who started it all for us.  Dave owns Flint Hills Wine and Spirits in Andover KS and hosted the first scotch tastings we attended back in the late 2000’s.

2:00PM – 2:45PM

Brian Andrew Desind

This guy has a problem – only The Dummies can help – he thinks his bottle of WOW (aka Elijah Craig Barrel Proof) is bad – we TEST IT! Brian also sent samples of a whiskey found in his Grandpa’s basement.  An Old Forester from 1953.

3:00PM – 3:45PM

Tomatin Distillery, Scotland

A US Tomatin Ambassador Thomas Mooneyham is joining us. Thomas loves to use the 14 year Tomatin to make an Old Fashioned.  Join us and find out how along with us.

4:00PM – 4:45PM

Roy aka Aqvavitae

Friend of the show and self-proclaimed ‘Whisky Evangelist” Roy from Glasgow, Scotland will be sharing some samples with us, and helping us pronounce ’em right. Check out Aqvavitae’s pronunciation videos on Youtube.

5:00PM – 5:45PM

Whisky in the 6

Whisky YouTube’s “Mr. Handsome” Rob, from Whisky in the 6. Don’t hate the Beard, embrace it as Bart has.  Whisky…Octomore 6.1 (probably).

6:00PM – 6:45PM

WhiskyLassie

Super Scotch God and friend of the show Johanne McInnis will be joining us to explore J.P. Wiser’s 150th in celebration of Canada’s 150th Birthday.

7:00PM – 7:45PM

The Beavor

Exploring a 1990’s bottling of 15yo Laphroaig together with The Beavor. You’ve heard his name mentioned in several reviews and live streams.  Who is “The Beavor”  that sends many a sample to the Dummies?

8:00PM – 8:45PM

Mark Gillespie

Whisky super-hero and all round Scotch God – WhiskyCast’s Mark Gillespie will be joining us to add some seasoned and measured wisdom. We’re also hoping he tells us something we don’t know (which shouldn’t be hard). Whiskey…Elmer T. Lee KSBW

9:00PM – 9:45PM

Drinking Caveman

On Instagram he’s known as Drinking Caveman. Charles will be joining us to talk about his bottle of Tomatin Dualchas he won in our giveaway.  We’ll also look at and taste samples of his own blend of bourbon and rye inspired by our Ryebooboo High West reference.

10:00PM – 10:45PM

Bubba and the Beard

Two guys with a great sense of humor and a little newer to Youtube are joining us once again.  Check in to see what they’ve been up to (a barrel proof shootout?). We’ll also be sharing a dram of Highland Park 12.

11:00PM – WHENEVER O’CLOCK

Conclusion with Cousin Shane

In the wrap up session we’re hoping the elements allow us to bring the campfire atmosphere and welcome a musical appearance from Cousin Shane himself – and a little unplugged guitar from Cousin Steve. No better way to end the 12 Hours of boom than with the 25th Anniversary Knob Creek!
